Moana Watercolor VS Acrylic Speed paint Big as part of the BIG Eye Disney Princess Art Crawl

Moana Speed paint Watercolor VS Acrylic. Watch me paint Moana in watercolor and Acrylic side by side in time-lapse

Moana is an upcoming American computer-animated musical fantasy adventure comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the 56th film in Disney's animated features canon. The film is being directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson provide the lead voices. It is scheduled to be released by Walt Disney Pictures on November 23, 2016.
Painting a Disney Princess we have not yet met was a incredible challenge. Little concept art has been released and I was left by making myself familiar with her legend. That is how the Watercolor vs Acrylic paint off happened. I am always getting asked what is the difference between Watercolor and Acrylic painting ? Can I paint this in watercolor ?  The answer is always about Light and Dark, and what comes first in a painting.
That is how the simultaneous painting idea came to be born. Watercolor is painted with the lightest space being held and darker elements Slowly added in. For me in my acrylic practice I layer lighter and lighter runs of paint. Dark to Light. Seeing the two painting evolve side by side though was so amazing .
